Welcome to Past Times! The online presence for Jeffrey S. Johnston, author of the Past Times series of books.

Past Times is a series of books focused on games and pastime activities throughout the ages. The first book was published in February of 2015, the second book is due out in Spring 2015.

I have been researching historic games for several years, in 2012 I decided to start writing a book, that book is Past Times: Sports and Games of Medieval Europe, it still isn’t done, but it will be released spring of 2015. In the process of writing this book the research spun off and I decided to make it a series of books instead of just the one. The first book was published in February of 2015 and is Past Times: Ancient Board Games. The details of the games included in the Past Times book series have been meticulously researched and the history of each game is included, along with the rules and how to recreate the game for modern use.
